How a toll gets billed

  1. Step 1

    The statement comes in

    FleetAi reads the E-ZPass Business account on a schedule. Tag reads and the later plate reads both arrive, with plaza, time, and amount.

  2. Step 2

    The crossing finds its driver

    Each driver's start and end dates on each car are already on file, so a crossing matches to whoever had the car at that minute, even weeks later.

  3. Step 3

    Proof, then the invoice

    The car's GPS trail is checked against the plaza. Verified tolls post to the driver's next weekly invoice as their own lines; exceptions wait for a look.

A toll counts as verified only when the car was there.

  • The FleetAi Tracker, or Tesla's own data, puts the car at the plaza within the verify radius at the time of the crossing.
  • A crossing with no trail nearby is flagged, not billed. Misread plates get disputed with the authority instead of the driver.
  • The driver sees the same plaza, time, and amount on their invoice and in their portal.

Questions about tolls

Which accounts does it read?
E-ZPass New York Business accounts. One account per fleet or per company; tags and plates are matched to your cars.
What about plate reads that arrive late?
They match the same way, from the driver's dates on the car. A crossing from three weeks ago still lands on the right person.
Can a driver dispute a toll?
Yes. The location check is the answer: verified means the car was there, and the trail is one click away.
Do I need a tracker for this?
Matching works without one. Verification against GPS needs the FleetAi Tracker or a Tesla.
